Mineola City is one of the city of Wood County, Texas, located towards the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 4550. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 5179, It is 367th most populous in Texas. The city encompasses an area of 5.34 square miles (13.83 sq km ), of which, 5.29 square miles (13.7 sq km) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 sq km) of it is water, it is the 396th largest by area in the U.S. state of Texas.

The population density was 859.6 people per square mile (331.89/kmē), making it the 678th most densely populated city in Texas. In the city the population was spread out, with 26.3% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 22% from 25 to 44, 20.9% from 45 to 64, and 22.5% who were 65 or older. The median age was 39.8 years, the median age of male residents at 35.8 and the median age of female residents at 43.3. The racial makeup of the city was 77.19% White, 13.38% Black or African American, 0.7% American Indian, 0.26% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, 2% from two or more races and 6.44% Other races.
