Midway City is a one of the Liberty County, Georgia, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 1100 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 1040 in July 2008, It is the 324th largest by population in the U.S. state of Georgia. The city spans an area of 5.6 sq mi (14.5 square kilometre), of which, 5.56 square miles (14.4 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 150th largest by total area in Georgia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1100 people, 331 households, and 242 families residing in the city. The population density was 197.8 people per square mile (76.37/kmē), making it the 90th least densely populated city in Georgia. There were 395 housing units at an average density of 71 per square mile (27.41/kmē). The average household size was 2.81 persons, and the average family size was 3.21 persons. In the city the population was spread out, with 25.7% under the age of 18, 7.2% from 18 to 24, 30.7% from 25 to 44, 18.8% from 45 to 64, and 17.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 92 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.2 males.
