Midtown City is a United States city located in the Roane County, Tennessee, United States. In 2000, the population was 1306. It is the 230th largest by population in the U.S. state of Tennessee. It is spread over 4.77 square miles (12.35 kmē), of which, 4.71 square miles (12.2 kmē ) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 179th largest by total area in Tennessee.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1306 people, 5369 households, and 3232 families residing in the city. The population density was 277.3 people per square mile (107.07/kmē), it is the 80th least densely populated city in the U.S. state of Tennessee.
