Midland County, Michigan is a county located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. The county has a population of 82874 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 82605, It is the 24th largest county by population in the U.S. state of Michigan. The county comprises an area of 527.89 sq mi (1367.23 square kilometre), of which, 521.19 square miles (1349.88 square kilometre) of it is land and 6.7 square miles (17.35 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the sixth smallest by total area among Michigan's county.

The population density was 159 people per square mile (61.39/kmē), making it the 21st most densely populated county in Michigan. There were 33796 housing units at an average density of 64.8 per square mile (25.02/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.56 persons, and the average family size was 3.04 persons. In the county Population was distributed with 26.9% under the age of 18, 8.7% from 18 to 24, 29.2% from 25 to 44, 23.2% from 45 to 64, and 12% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.3 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 82605, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 78650 White, 1063 Black or African American, 350 American Indian, 1649 Asian, 28 Native Hawaiian, and 865 from two or more races.
