Middletown Town is one of the town of New Castle County, Delaware, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 6161. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 12152, making it Delaware's 15th largest. The town has a total area of 6.41 mi˛ (16.6 sq km), of which, 6.4 square miles (16.58 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, it is the eighth largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 6161 people in the town, organized into 2298 households, and 1632 families living in the town. The population density was 962.4 people per square mile (371.58/km˛), giving it the 20th least densely populated town among the Delaware. There were 2514 housing units at an average density of 392.8 per square mile (151.66/km˛). The average household size was 2.68 persons, and the average family size was 3.14 persons.
