Middletown City is a city in the Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States. The city has a population of 5744 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 7147, making it Kentucky's 81st largest. The city spans an area of 4.89 square miles (12.67 square kilometre), of which, 4.86 square miles (12.59 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 84th largest by area in the U.S. state of Kentucky.
