Middletown City is a one of the Middlesex County, Connecticut, located in Northeastern Region (New England) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 43167 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 48030, It is 16th most populous in Connecticut. Its area is just over 42.32 square miles (109.61 square kilometre), of which, 40.9 square miles (105.93 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.42 square miles (3.68 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the third largest by area in the U.S. state of Connecticut. It is ranks 12 in the size of its inland waterways in Connecticut.
