Michigan City City is a city in the LaPorte County, Indiana, United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Michigan City City is home to 32900 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 32405, It is Indiana's 23rd largest by population . According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 23.12 mi˛ (59.88 square kilometre), of which, 19.6 square miles (50.76 square kilometre) of it is land and 3.52 square miles (9.12 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 18th largest by area in the U.S. state of Indiana. It is ranks fourth in the size of its inland waterways in Indiana.
