Miami County is a county located in Ohio, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 98868. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 101085, It is the 27th largest in terms of population. The county comprises an area of 409.22 sq mi (1059.87 kmē), of which, 407.04 square miles (1054.23 kmē) of it is land and 2.18 square miles (5.65 kmē) of it is water, it is the 14th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Ohio.

As of the census of 2000, there were 98868 residents, 38437 households, and 27943 families in the county. The population density was 242.9 people per square mile (93.78/kmē), giving it the 24th most densely populated county among the Ohio. There were 40554 housing units at an average density of 99.6 per square mile (38.46/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.54 persons, and the average family size was 2.99 persons. In the county the population was spread out, with 25.9% under the age of 18, 7.6% from 18 to 24, 28.4% from 25 to 44, 24.8% from 45 to 64, and 13.2% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.4 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 101085, The racial makeup of the county was 96333 White, 2243 Black or African American, 228 American Indian, 1143 Asian, 9 Native Hawaiian, and 1129 from two or more races.
