Mexico City is a United States city located in the Audrain County, Missouri, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 11320 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 11074, It is the 62nd most populous in the U.S. state of Missouri. It covers total area of 11.71 mi˛ (30.33 square kilometre), of which, 11.37 square miles (29.45 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.34 square miles (0.88 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 39th largest by total area among Missouri.

As of the census of 2000, there were 11320 people in the city, organized into 4804 households, and 3023 families living in the city. The population density was 995.7 people per square mile (384.44/km˛), giving it the 422nd most densely populated city among the Missouri. There were 5301 housing units at an average density of 466.2 per square mile (180/km˛). The average household size was 2.25 people, and the average family size was 2.84 people. In the city Age distribution was 23.9% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 25% from 25 to 44, 22.5% from 45 to 64, and 20.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 115.3 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 122.5 females. The median age was 39.8 years, the median age of male residents at 37 and the median age of female residents at 42.4. The racial makeup of the city was 10051 White, 1040 Black or African American, 30 American Indian, 58 Asian, 2 Native Hawaiian, 107 from two or more races and 32 Ohter races.
