In July 2008, its estimated population was 238, It is the 69th smallest by population in the U.S. state of North Carolina. It has total area of 1.18 sq mi (3.06 sq km), of which, 1.07 square miles (2.77 sq km) of it is land and 0.11 square miles (0.28 sq km) of it is water, it is the 165th smallest by area in the U.S. state of North Carolina.
