Mesa City is one of the city of Maricopa County, Arizona, located towards the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 396375 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 463552, It is the third most populous in the U.S. state of Arizona. It is spread over 125.18 sq mi (324.21 sq km), of which, 124.99 square miles (323.72 sq km ) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.52 sq km) of it is water, makes it the ninth largest by total area in Arizona. It is ranks 13 in the size of its inland waterways in Arizona.

As of the census of 2000, there were 396375 people, 146643 households, and 99856 families living in the city. The population density was 3171.3 people per square mile (1224.45/kmē), it would be the eighth most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Arizona.
