Mercersburg Borough is a borough located in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, in the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. As per the 2000 census, borough has a population of 1540 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 1584 in July 2008, making it Pennsylvania's 716th largest. The borough comprises an area of 0.97 sq mi (2.51 square kilometre), it is the 744th largest by area in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1540 people, 686 households, and 439 families living in the borough. The population density was 1581 people per square mile (610.43/kmē), giving it the 757th most densely populated borough among the Pennsylvania. There were 770 housing units at an average density of 793.8 per square mile (306.49/kmē). The average household size was 2.24 persons, and the average family size was 2.8 persons.
