In July 2008, its estimated population was 51825, It is the 18th largest by population in the U.S. state of Ohio. It has total area of 28.08 square miles (72.73 square kilometre), of which, 26.77 square miles (69.33 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.31 square miles (3.39 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 13th largest by size in Ohio. It is ranks 11 in the size of its inland waterways in Ohio.
