As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 8288, It is the 210th largest in terms of population. The city has a total area of 1.67 mi˛ (4.33 sq km), of which, 1.63 square miles (4.22 sq km) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 sq km) of it is water, it is the 464th largest in terms of geographical size.
