Menominee County is one of the 83 county of Michigan, located towards the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 25326 inhabitants. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 24202, It is the 25th smallest county by population in the U.S. state of Michigan. It covers total area of 1337.99 sq mi (3465.38 kmē), of which, 1043.52 square miles (2702.7 kmē) of it is land and 294.47 square miles (762.67 kmē) of it is water, making it Michigan's 24th largest county by total area.

Its population was estimated at 24202 in July 2008, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 95.19% White, 0.31% Black or African American, 2.86% American Indian, 0.36% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, and 1.27% from two or more races.
