Menahga City is one of the city of Wadena County, Minnesota, located towards the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 1220 as per the Census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 1196, making it Minnesota's 305th largest. It is spread over 3.92 sq mi (10.15 kmē), of which, 3.72 square miles (9.63 kmē ) of it is land and 0.2 square miles (0.52 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 196th largest by total area among Minnesota.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 1220 people, 491 households, and 283 families living in the city. The population density was 328.3 people per square mile (126.76/kmē), it is the 267th least densely populated city in the U.S. state of Minnesota. There were 556 housing units at an average density of 149.5 per square mile (57.72/kmē). The average household size was 2.22 persons, and the average family size was 2.98 persons. Age range in the city was well distributed with 23.8% under the age of 18, 5.6% from 18 to 24, 20.2% from 25 to 44, 17.4% from 45 to 64, and 33.1% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 81.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 78.5 males.
