It is the fifth smallest in terms of population. It covers total area of 5.05 mi˛ (13.08 square kilometre), of which, 2.16 square miles (5.59 square kilometre) of it is land and 2.89 square miles (7.49 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Rhode Island's 18th largest by total area. It is ranks sixth in the size of its inland waterways in Rhode Island.
