Medford City is a city located in Taylor County, Wisconsin, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 4350 inhabitants. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 4115, It is Wisconsin's 139th largest by population . Its area is just over 3.52 mi˛ (9.12 sq km), of which, 3.5 square miles (9.06 sq km) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 sq km) of it is water, it is the 190th largest by area in the U.S. state of Wisconsin.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4350 people, 76 households, and 48 families residing in the city. The population density was 1243.9 people per square mile (480.27/km˛), it would be the 176th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. There were 2034 housing units at an average density of 581.1 per square mile (224.36/km˛). The average household size was 2.17 and the average family size was 2.86. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 115.5 females. The median age is 39.3 years, the median age of male residents at 36.7 and the median age of female residents at 41.6. The racial makeup of the city was 98.69% White, 0.11% Black or African American, 0.18% American Indian, 0.18% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 0.8% from two or more races and 0.02% Other races.
