Meagher County is a United States county located in the United States of Montana. In 2000, county's population was 1932 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 1868, It is the 12th smallest in terms of population. Its area is just over 2394.83 square miles (6202.58 kmē), of which, 2391.82 square miles (6194.79 kmē) of it is land and 3.02 square miles (7.82 kmē) of it is water, it is the 27th largest by area in the U.S. state of Montana.


As of the census of 2000, there were 1932 people, 803 households, and 529 families residing in the county. The population density was 0.8 people per square mile (0.31/kmē), making its Montana's seventh least densely populated county. There were 1363 housing units at an average density of 0.6 per square mile (0.23/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.37 persons, and the average family size was 3 persons. Age range in the county was well distributed with 25% under the age of 18, 6.1% from 18 to 24, 22.7% from 25 to 44, 28.1% from 45 to 64, and 18.2% who were 65 or older.
