Its area is just over 860.02 square miles (2227.44 square kilometre), of which, 858.98 square miles (2224.75 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.04 square miles (2.69 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 23rd largest by area in the U.S. state of Nebraska.
