Mclean County, Kentucky is a county of the United States of Kentucky. The county has a population of 9938 as per the 2000 census data. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 9681, making it Kentucky's 21st smallest county. It covers total area of 256.17 square miles (663.48 sq km), of which, 254.3 square miles (658.63 sq km) of it is land and 1.88 square miles (4.87 sq km) of it is water, it is the 36th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Kentucky.

In the county the population was spread out, with 24.2% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 27.7% from 25 to 44, 25.4% from 45 to 64, and 14.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.2 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 9681, The racial makeup of the county was 9546 White, 48 Black or African American, 17 American Indian, 4 Asian, 2 Native Hawaiian, and 64 from two or more races.
