Mcdonough City is a United States city located in the Henry County, Georgia, United States. Mcdonough City had an official population of 8493 in 2000. In July 2008, its estimated population was 19768, It is the 97th largest by population in the U.S. state of Georgia. The city has a total area of 7.8 mi˛ (20.2 square kilometre), of which, 7.76 square miles (20.1 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 108th largest by total area among Georgia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 8493 people in the city, organized into 3069 households, and 2103 families residing in the city.
