Mccurtain County, Oklahoma is a county of the United States of Oklahoma. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 34402 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 33532, It is Oklahoma's 29th most populous county. The county has a total area of 1901.32 mi˛ (4924.4 square kilometre), of which, 1852.26 square miles (4797.33 square kilometre) of it is land and 49.07 square miles (127.09 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the third largest by total area among Oklahoma's county. It is ranks sixth in the size of its inland waterways in Oklahoma.

As of the census of 2000, there were 34402 residents, 13216 households, and 9536 families in the county. The population density was 18.6 people per square mile (7.18/km˛), it is the 48th most populated county in terms of population density. There were 15427 housing units at an average density of 8.3 per square mile (3.2/km˛). It has an average household size was 2.56 persons, and the average family size was 3.06 persons. The population's age distribution was 28.2% under the age of 18, 8.3% from 18 to 24, 26.2% from 25 to 44, 23.4% from 45 to 64, and 14% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 92.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.1 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 33532, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 71.79% White, 8.45% Black or African American, 14.02% American Indian, 0.28% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 5.45% from two or more races.
