Mccracken County is a county located in Kentucky, in the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 65514. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 65109, giving it the 13th largest population among Kentucky's county. It covers total area of 268.08 square miles (694.32 sq km), of which, 251.02 square miles (650.14 sq km) of it is land and 17.05 square miles (44.16 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 79th largest by total area in Kentucky.

The population density was 261 people per square mile (100.77/kmē), it is the seventh most populated county in terms of population density. There were 30361 housing units at an average density of 120.9 per square mile (46.68/kmē). The average household size was 2.31 persons, and the average family size was 2.86 persons. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 23.4% under the age of 18, 7.9% from 18 to 24, 28.1% from 25 to 44, 24.7% from 45 to 64, and 15.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 90.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 86.3 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 65109, The racial makeup of the county was 86.85% White, 10.9% Black or African American, 0.26% American Indian, 0.62% Asian, 0.06% Native Hawaiian, and 1.31% from two or more races.
