Mcclain County is one of the 77 county of Oklahoma, located towards the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. It is home to over 27740 people (2000 census). The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 32365, It is Oklahoma's 30th most populous county. The county encompasses an area of 580.13 sq mi (1502.53 sq km ), of which, 569.67 square miles (1475.44 sq km) of it is land and 10.46 square miles (27.09 sq km) of it is water, makes it the tenth smallest by total area in Oklahoma.

In the county Population was distributed with 26.8% under the age of 18, 8.1% from 18 to 24, 29% from 25 to 44, 24% from 45 to 64, and 12% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 96.1 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 32365, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 28879 White, 297 Black or African American, 1816 American Indian, 102 Asian, 11 Native Hawaiian, and 1260 from two or more races.
