Maury County is a United States county located in the United States of Tennessee. In 2000, the population was 69498. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 81938, It is the 16th largest in terms of population. The county comprises an area of 615.52 sq mi (1594.19 kmē), of which, 612.86 square miles (1587.3 kmē) of it is land and 2.66 square miles (6.89 kmē) of it is water, it is the tenth largest by area in the U.S. state of Tennessee.

The population density was 113.4 people per square mile (43.78/kmē), it would be the 26th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Tennessee. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.3 males. In July 2008, its estimated population was 81938, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 85.18% White, 12.65% Black or African American, 0.35% American Indian, 0.6% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 1.19% from two or more races.
