Massillon City is a city located in the Stark County, Ohio, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 31325 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 32613, giving it the 44th largest population among Ohio. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 16.89 sq mi (43.74 sq km), of which, 16.75 square miles (43.38 sq km) of it is land and 0.14 square miles (0.36 sq km) of it is water, making it Ohio's 47th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 31325 people in the city, organized into 12677 households, and 8324 families living in the city. The population density was 1870.3 people per square mile (722.13/kmē), it is 345th most densely populated city in Ohio. There were 13567 housing units at an average density of 810 per square mile (312.74/kmē). The average household size was 2.4 persons, and the average family size was 2.96 persons. The racial makeup of the city was 88.18% White, 9.39% Black or African American, 0.23% American Indian, 0.25% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 1.6% from two or more races and 0.34% Other races.
