Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 57846, It is the 20th largest in terms of population. Its area is just over 1051.03 mi˛ (2722.16 square kilometre), of which, 961.06 square miles (2489.13 square kilometre) of it is land and 89.97 square miles (233.02 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the tenth smallest in terms of geographical size.
