Mascotte City is a city located in Lake County, Florida, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 2687. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 5591, making it the 567th most populous in Florida. It is spread over 2.82 sq mi (7.3 square kilometre), of which, 2.43 square miles (6.29 square kilometre ) of it is land and 0.39 square miles (1.01 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Florida's 511th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2687 people in the city, organized into 803 households, and 634 families living in the city. The population density was 1106.2 people per square mile (427.11/kmē), making it the 562nd most densely populated city in Florida. There were 858 housing units at an average density of 353.1 per square mile (136.33/kmē). The average household size was 3.33 persons, and the average family size was 3.56 persons.
