Marshall County is a United States county located in the United States of Indiana. The population of the county was 45128 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 46709, It is Indiana's 31st most populous county. Its area is just over 449.92 square miles (1165.29 sq km), of which, 444.27 square miles (1150.65 sq km) of it is land and 5.65 square miles (14.63 sq km) of it is water, making it the 24th largest by size in Indiana.

The population density was 101.6 people per square mile (39.23/kmē), it is the 37th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Indiana. In the county Population was distributed with 28.1% under the age of 18, 8.7% from 18 to 24, 28% from 25 to 44, 22% from 45 to 64, and 13.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.9 males. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 46709, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 97.63% White, 0.72% Black or African American, 0.33% American Indian, 0.45% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, and 0.82% from two or more races.
