Marseilles City is a city in the La Salle County, Illinois, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 4655 inhabitants. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 4924, It is 334th most populous in Illinois. The city spans an area of 8.7 sq mi (22.53 square kilometre), of which, 8.31 square miles (21.52 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.39 square miles (1.01 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 101st largest by total area in Illinois.
