Marquette County is a United States county located in the United States of Wisconsin. The population of county in 2000 stood at 15832 as per the Census data. The July 2008 population estimate is 15060, making it the tenth least populous county in Wisconsin. Its area is just over 464.42 square miles (1202.84 kmē), of which, 455.49 square miles (1179.71 kmē) of it is land and 8.94 square miles (23.15 kmē) of it is water, making it the sixth smallest by size in Wisconsin.

As of the census of 2000, there were 15832 residents, 5986 households, and 4167 families in the county. The population density was 34.8 people per square mile (13.44/kmē), giving it the 44th most densely populated county among the Wisconsin. There were 8664 housing units at an average density of 19 per square mile (7.34/kmē). The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 2.86. In the county the population is diverse age-wise, with 21.1% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 25% from 45 to 64, and 18.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 118.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 123.7 males. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 15060, The racial makeup of the county was 14693 White, 95 Black or African American, 72 American Indian, 35 Asian, 15 Native Hawaiian, and 150 from two or more races.
