Marquette County, Michigan is a county of the United States of Michigan. As of 2000 the population was 64634. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 65492, making it Michigan's 29th largest county. The county has a total area of 3425.17 square miles (8871.15 kmē), of which, 1821.05 square miles (4716.5 kmē) of it is land and 1604.12 square miles (4154.65 kmē) of it is water, giving it the fourth largest by total area among Michigan's county. It is ranks sixth in the size of its inland waterways in Michigan.

The population density was 35.5 people per square mile (13.71/kmē), giving it the 21st least densely populated county among the Michigan. In the county the population was spread out, with 21.4% under the age of 18, 13.6% from 18 to 24, 26.9% from 25 to 44, 24.6% from 45 to 64, and 13.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 99.1 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 99.9 females. Its population was estimated at 65492 in July 2008, The racial makeup of the county was 62016 White, 1041 Black or African American, 1091 American Indian, 398 Asian, 14 Native Hawaiian, and 932 from two or more races.
