Marion Town is a town in the Smyth County, Virginia, United States. It is home to over 6349 people (2000 census). According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the town is 6001, giving it the 116th largest population among Virginia. It has total area of 4.15 square miles (10.75 sq km), makes it the 153rd largest by total area in Virginia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 6349 residents, 2647 households, and 1614 families in the town. The population density was 1528.3 people per square mile (590.08/kmē), it is Virginia's 118th most densely populated town. There were 2865 housing units at an average density of 690.4 per square mile (266.56/kmē). The average household size was 2.13 persons, and the average family size was 2.76 persons. Age range in the town was well distributed with 19.4% under the age of 18, 9.7% from 18 to 24, 26% from 25 to 44, 24.2% from 45 to 64, and 20.7% who were 65 or older.
