Marion County is a county located in Ohio, in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. It is home to over 66217 people (2000 census). The July 2008 population estimate is 65768, It is the 38th most populous county in the U.S. state of Ohio. It has total area of 404.15 sq mi (1046.74 kmē), of which, 403.84 square miles (1045.94 kmē) of it is land and 0.3 square miles (0.78 kmē) of it is water, making it Ohio's fifth smallest county by total area.

In July 2008, its estimated population was 65768, The racial makeup of the county was 91.49% White, 6.59% Black or African American, 0.22% American Indian, 0.64% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 1.06% from two or more races.
