The county spans an area of 640.35 sq mi (1658.5 sq km), of which, 597.7 square miles (1548.04 sq km) of it is land and 42.65 square miles (110.46 sq km) of it is water, it is the 43rd largest by area in the U.S. state of Arkansas. It is ranks fifth in the size of its inland waterways in Arkansas.
