Margate City is a city located in Broward County, Florida, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. It is home to over 53909 people (2000 census). In July 2008, its estimated population was 54086, making it the 46th most populous in Florida. Its area is just over 8.98 miē (23.26 kmē), of which, 8.81 square miles (22.82 kmē) of it is land and 0.17 square miles (0.44 kmē) of it is water, making it Florida's 208th largest by total area.
