Marengo City is a city in the McHenry County, Illinois, United States. As of 2000 the population was 6355. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 7520, It is the 275th largest by population in the U.S. state of Illinois. The city has a total area of 3.98 mi˛ (10.31 square kilometre), it is the 276th largest by area in the U.S. state of Illinois.
