Marco Island City is a city in the Collier County, Florida, United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 14879 as per the Census data. It is the 188th most populous in the U.S. state of Florida. The city extends throughout a territory of 17.1 mi˛ (44.29 square kilometre ), of which, 10.57 square miles (27.38 square kilometre) of it is land and 6.52 square miles (16.89 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 103rd largest by total area in Florida.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 14879 people, 7134 households, and 5202 families residing in the city. The population density was 1407.1 people per square mile (543.28/km˛), it is Florida's 495th most densely populated city. There were 14826 housing units at an average density of 1402.6 per square mile (541.55/km˛). The average household size was 2.08 persons, and the average family size was 2.38 persons. In the Marco Island City, 10.9% of the population was under the age of 18, 3.1% were 18 to 24, 14.5% were 25 to 44, 33.1% were 45 to 64, and 38.4% who were 65 or older.
