Maquoketa City is a United States city located in the Jackson County, Iowa, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 6112 inhabitants. The July 2008 population estimate is 5908, making it the 58th most populous in Iowa. The city spans an area of 3.48 square miles (9.01 kmē), of which, 3.45 square miles (8.94 kmē) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 kmē) of it is water, makes it the 110th largest by total area in Iowa.
