Manton City is a United States city located in the Wexford County, Michigan, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 1221 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 1167, It is the 402nd most populous in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is spread over 1.62 mi˛ (4.2 sq km), of which, 1.56 square miles (4.04 sq km ) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 366th largest by total area in Michigan.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 1221 residents, 497 households, and 317 families in the city. The population density was 784.2 people per square mile (302.78/km˛), making its Michigan's 204th least densely populated city. There were 541 housing units at an average density of 346.8 per square mile (133.9/km˛). The average household size was 2.46 persons, and the average family size was 3.04 persons. In the city the population was spread out, with 28.9% under the age of 18, 9.3% from 18 to 24, 26.5% from 25 to 44, 20.4% from 45 to 64, and 14.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 110.5 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 120.3 females. The median age of the city's population was 36.1 years, the median age of male residents at 33.6 and the median age of female residents at 38.5. The racial makeup of the city was 97.95% White, 0% Black or African American, 0.41% American Indian, 0.25% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, 1.39% from two or more races and 0% Other races.
