Manchester City is a city located in the Clay County, Kentucky, United States. The population of the city was 1738 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 1951, making it Kentucky's 179th largest. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.51 square miles (3.91 sq km), giving it the 216th largest by total area among Kentucky.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1738 residents, 778 households, and 456 families in the city. The population density was 1148.4 people per square mile (443.4/kmē), it is Kentucky's 226th most densely populated city. There were 844 housing units at an average density of 558.9 per square mile (215.79/kmē). The average household size was 2.16 and the average family size was 2.89.
