Malibu City, Los Angeles County, California is a city located in the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. The population of the city was 12575 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 13009, making it the 394th most populous in California. It is spread over 100.96 miē (261.49 kmē), of which, 19.87 square miles (51.46 kmē ) of it is land and 81.09 square miles (210.02 kmē) of it is water, making it California's 11th largest by total area. It is ranks second in the size of its inland waterways in California.

As of the census of 2000, there were 12575 people in the city, organized into 5137 households, and 3165 families living in the city. The population density was 632.9 people per square mile (244.36/kmē), it is the 298th least densely populated city in the U.S. state of California.
