Major County, Oklahoma is a county of the United States of Oklahoma. The county has a population of 7545 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 7112, It is 14th least populous county in Oklahoma. The county has a total area of 957.87 square miles (2480.87 kmē), of which, 956.76 square miles (2478 kmē) of it is land and 1.11 square miles (2.87 kmē) of it is water, making it Oklahoma's 26th largest county by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 7545 people in the county, organized into 3046 households, and 2209 families living in the county. The population density was 7.9 people per square mile (3.05/kmē), it is the 11th least populated county in terms of population density. There were 3540 housing units at an average density of 3.7 per square mile (1.43/kmē). The average household size was 2.44 people, and the average family size was 2.92 people. In the county the population was spread out, with 24.7% under the age of 18, 6.7% from 18 to 24, 24.4% from 25 to 44, 24.9% from 45 to 64, and 19.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.5 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 7112, The racial makeup of the county was 95.99% White, 0.46% Black or African American, 1.45% American Indian, 0.18% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 1.9% from two or more races.
