Maitland City is one of the city of Orange County, Florida, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The city has a population of 12019 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 14931, It is the 230th largest by population in the U.S. state of Florida. Its area is just over 5.67 sq mi (14.69 kmē), of which, 4.64 square miles (12.02 kmē) of it is land and 1.03 square miles (2.67 kmē) of it is water, giving it the 302nd largest by total area among Florida.

The median age of the city's population was 39.7 years, the median age of male residents at 38.2 and the median age of female residents at 41. The racial makeup of the city was 85.22% White, 9.73% Black or African American, 0.12% American Indian, 2.18% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, 1.58% from two or more races and 1.16% Other races.
