Madison County is a county located in Idaho, in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Madison County is home to 27467 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 37456, It is Idaho's tenth most populous county. The county extends throughout a territory of 473.36 sq mi (1226 square kilometre ), of which, 471.52 square miles (1221.23 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.84 square miles (4.77 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the third smallest by area in the U.S. state of Idaho.

The population density was 58.3 people per square mile (22.51/kmē), it would be the fifth most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Idaho. Age range in the county was well distributed with 26.2% under the age of 18, 39.9% from 18 to 24, 16% from 25 to 44, 11.9% from 45 to 64, and 6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 90.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 83.6 males. Its population was estimated at 37456 in July 2008, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 97.06% White, 0.48% Black or African American, 0.41% American Indian, 0.72% Asian, 0.23% Native Hawaiian, and 1.1% from two or more races.
