Madison County is a one of the county from Georgia's 159 counties, located in Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Madison County is home to 25730 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 28200, It is the 62nd most populous county in the U.S. state of Georgia. The county has a total area of 285.57 mi˛ (739.62 square kilometre), of which, 283.88 square miles (735.25 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.69 square miles (4.38 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 105th largest by total area in Georgia.

In the Madison County, 26.3% of the population was under the age of 18, 8.2% were 18 to 24, 30.6% were 25 to 44, 23.9% were 45 to 64, and 11% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 96.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.7 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 28200, The racial makeup of the county was 89.16% White, 8.98% Black or African American, 0.21% American Indian, 0.71% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 0.92% from two or more races.
