Madison County is a one of the county from Alabama's 67 counties, located in Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. It is home to over 276700 people (2000 census). Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 319510, It is third most populous county in Alabama. The county spans an area of 812.85 sq mi (2105.27 kmē), of which, 804.92 square miles (2084.73 kmē) of it is land and 7.93 square miles (20.54 kmē) of it is water, it is the 19th largest in terms of geographical size.
