Madison City is one of the city of Madison and Limestone counties, Alabama, located towards the Southern Region (East South Central) of United States. Madison City had an official population of 29329 in 2000. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 38714, giving it the 13th largest population among Alabama. It has total area of 23.23 square miles (60.17 square kilometre), of which, 23.16 square miles (59.98 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.07 square miles (0.18 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 38th largest by area in the U.S. state of Alabama.
